Careers I'm a... um, I don't see my profession listed... As a corporation, East Khanid Trading is based more on community spirit, mutual cooperation and success, and flexibility in roles and responsibilities so that all of our members are happy at what they do, and are only required to put in what they are able. Naturally, greater participation usually leads to greater rewards and it is no different in EKT. However, as part of this approach to membership, we're quite open in terms of what people want to do within the corp. If you consider yourself to have a profession other than the examples we've listed here, then get in touch with us through the recruitment forums or in-game on the EKTPUB channel and discuss it with us. More than likely there is a place for you in EKT, and we'd love to hear from you! I'm an Explorer... what will EKT do for me? Exploration is a bit of a buzz-word right now, and is a band-wagon East Khanid Trading very much wants to be on! As a result, we have an Exploration department which aims to get the most out of this aspect of EVE gameplay. Read more... I'm a Scientist... what will EKT do for me? There are a lot of aspects to being a Science / Research character. Firstly, there's the researching of BPOs, there's copying them to make BPCs, there's carrying out invention on them, and then there's the R&D side of things. At East Khanid Trading, we need people capable of all these things, and so we actively encourage our members, provide work for them (getting paid of course), and help them reach their own personal goals when it comes to Science. I'm a Salvager... what will EKT do for me? Salvaging is an interesting little profession, usually chosen as a side-line by the mission-runners in EVE. In EKT, this is usually the case too, although some of our members have specialised a bit more and form salvaging crews that follow the Faction Relations guys while they run their missions, clearing up the salvage behind them. Like Miners, Salvagers face similar issues when it comes to the salvage they collect, and EKT has some ideas for that too! Read more... I'm a "Jack of all trades"... is EKT for me? East Khanid Trading does not like to force our members into a single role. As time goes on, people want to try new things, or split their time between different aspects of game-play. In EKT, our Disciplines and Ranks system allows you to move freely between the departments, as well as change your training focus according to your own priorities. It's even possible to hold Rank in multiple departments, as long as you're fulfilling the requirements for each department. Essentially, if you read through the other topics in this section of About EKT and can identify with more than one area, then you'll still fit in perfectly in our corp. I'm a PvP'er... what will EKT do for me? East Khanid Trading is not PvP focussed in the general sense at the moment. In other words, if you're after a 0.0 corp, wars, etc. then you should probably look elsewhere. However, as with all corps in EVE, we will more than likely be war-decced occassionally, so having some PvP skills would be useful in those situations, but not strictly required in order to join. Read more... I'm a Pirate... what will EKT do for me? Absolutely nothing. We're anti-piracy. Not anti-PvP'ers, just anti newb ganking, griefing, and general acts of piracy. This includes can flipping as well as shooting reds (due to poor security status) in highsec I'm a Mission Runner... what will EKT do for me? East Khanid Trading has a very active Mission running department, which we call our "Factions Relations" department. We're strongly aligned to the Khanid Kingdom faction, with secondary alignments to the Amarr Empire and Caldari State factions. If you join up with EKT, you will be expected to run missions for these 3 factions only. If you have negative standings with them, this does not preclude you from joining us, but you will be asked to rectify your standings as soon as possible. The reasons for this are many, but essentially EKT's standings are made up from an average of our member standings, and so it is very important for all our members to have positive standings with these factions, if not excellent ones! We do realise that raising your faction standings can take a while, but we aim to help our members achieve this by offering a variety of incentives along the way. Our Faction Relations department is one of the most active in our corp, and suits mission runners of all levels and commitment. Even if you consider yourself to be a Trader / Miner / whatever, there is something in our Faction Relations department for you to participate in! Read more... I'm a Trader... what will EKT do for me? Trading is a tough career to fit into player corporations, since it tends to be more of a solo effort because of the way EVE is designed. Read more... I'm a Producer... what will EKT do for me? Production is a core department in our Industrial division. In East Khanid Trading, we aim to provide our Producers with all of the tools, training, and procedures to make their production activities hassle-free, efficient, and profitable. As part of this aim, we provide some simple systems which give our producers a steady supply of reasonably priced minerals, orders for goods, and some easy avenues for additional profit making. We aim to keep our producers busy and producing, making a profit on every order. We also will be providing an online and in-game shop front to allow us to expose our production capabilities in a controlled and united way. Read more... I'm a Miner... what will EKT do for me? Mining is a fundamental and important part of any corporation that has an industrial division, and this is no less true for East Khanid Trading. We value our miners very highly, and have several systems in place to help our miners enjoy what they're doing, improve their abilities, and make lots of ISK! Read more... Recruitment What kind of players / characters are you looking for? East Khanid Trading has several departments covering a wide variety of possible activities in terms of "things to do". Our Disciplines and Rankings systems allow you to choose what areas are most important for you, and what areas you would like to concentrate on. The activities EKT is currently most active in are covered by our various departments, including Mining, Production, Trade, Faction Relations (missions), Security and Exploration. We encourage our members to take part in group activities whenever possible (lots of "spur of the moment" gang ops), and have a few organised ops a couple of times a month. In addition, we do have occassional internal contests and competitions where we compete with eachother in a variety of different ways. Essentially, we're looking for Industrialists of any form, people who enjoy running missions or doing exploration, but most importantly friendly, fun-loving people who want to participate! We have a strong internal economy where you can mine, build and trade to your heart's content secure in the knowledge that you're making a profit. Miners sell their minerals or ore directly to the corp at very competitive prices, meaning that there is no long wait for them to sell through the market. Producers source their ore from the corp too, meaning they have less flying around and hauling before they can build. Traders can buy from Producers or the corp at low prices to flog items in surrounding regions or stations we don't have offices at. Haulers get paid fairly for their efforts. Essentially, whatever part you play in the industrial supply chain, there is profit to be made for your time and effort. For the more combat-focused guys, we are a standings-based corp focussed on Khanid, Amarr and Caldari faction standings, so require that you only run missions for NPCs in those 3 factions (or at least not run storylines or faction kill missions for other factions). Having high corp standings not only helps all our members to get access to decent agents in the area, but lowers costs for the industrial division. Read more... What do you need to be offered a position in EKT? East Khanid Trading is a corp for players at all levels in the game. Due to our unique Disciplines system, players can pursue almost any personal goals they have and receive a lot of help from EKT along the way, regardless of what their current skills are like at the time of joining. Basically, the main things you need to bring to the table is reasonable activeness in the game, a willingness to take part in corp activities (fun stuff as well as fund raising ops), a desire to succeed for both yourself and the corp, and willingness to help work towards our corporate vision! Skills, Experience and Corp Structure East Khanid Trading has only one real requirement from our employees - commitment. By this we mean that you should be as committed to making EKT a success as you are for yourself. EKT believes in a more social and communal approach to corporation management, and as such we expect our members to be reasonably active, to work for the benefit of the corp as well as themselves, and to adhere to our organisation structure and policies. In exchange for your dedication and participation, EKT has a rich and extensive system of disciplines (skill sets), ranking and management, with decent rewards for promotions in these areas. Everyone in EKT stands to benefit from their efforts, even those who are not looking for responsibility in management but rather are looking for a corp to help them achieve their maximum potential. We do NOT expect you to log in every day, and we do NOT expect your RL commitments and relationships to suffer because you feel obliged to be online with us. Essentially though, East Khanid Trading aims to encourage a group effort approach where our members help eachother, help the corp, and have the corp help our members. There are several systems in place to help our employees benefit from their membership, and basically as long as everyone follows the guidelines, they will reap rewards not often available in other corporations in EVE.
