We value our miners very highly, and have several systems in place to help our miners enjoy what they're doing, improve their abilities, and make lots of ISK! One of the areas that plagues miners in the starter NPC corps, and even in some player corps, is in selling their minerals or ore. After a particularly good effort in mining and you have loads of ore on your hands, you have a few tough decisions to make... (1) do you refine your ore yourself, or will it be more profitable to sell the ore? (2) Do you haul the minerals / ore all over the region in search of a decent buy order to maximise your profits? (3) Do you put up your minerals / ore in a sell-order and wait for the money to trickle in slowly? At EKT we address all of these issues through our well-defined industrial supply chain. For miners, the important aspects are as follows: 1) EKT will buy ALL of your minerals from you at a corp price, which is very reasonable, and which is based on current regional averages for buy and sell orders. Essentially, you mine to your heart's content, put the minerals up on contract to the corp, and the corp will claim the minerals as soon as possible, meaning you get full payment at a decent price for whatever you mine! 2) EKT will buy your ore from you too, at a fixed refinery efficiency of 95%! So if you're a new player and haven't trained up your refinery efficiency skills to give you higher than 95% refine, you can sell your ore to the corp, and the corp will refine it for you, giving you a boost to your mining income. 3) EKT has two different types of office - Factory Stations and Mining Post Stations. The Production division needs the minerals at the Factory Stations, but those stations are not always closest to the main mining areas. If you want to sell your minerals / ore as soon as possible and not have to worry about hauling them all to the Factory Stations yourself, then the corp will buy them at the Mining Stations for 95% of the standard corp price. Haulers then have the opportunity of transporting them to the factories where they are needed for the 5% difference. (see? everyone has an opportunity to get paid for doing work). If you would rather haul your minerals / ore yourself to get the full 100% of the corp price, then that's ok too! 4) We encourage our members to get into mining gangs and take advantage of eachother's gang bonuses. By hooking up with some of our more experienced miners, you can improve your income drastically. 5) We organise the occassional mining ops where a bunch of us go out and strip a few asteroid belts. Some of these are high-sec ops which are very profitable and act as a way to "earn as you learn". Other ops are in low-sec space where we go after the high-end ores. These ops can be very profitable indeed, although there is obviously more risk involved. Participation in corp ops is not required, although your participation does count towards your progress in the Disciplines and Ranks systems, so will benefit you in more ways than one. 6) Our miners have mining crystals and drones readily available (cheap if not free!), and through the Disciplines system, it's even possible to work your way up to levels where we give you mining barges and T2 strip miner's! Essentially, the industrial side of EKT (and indeed any other corp with an industrial division) relies heavily on our miners. In recognition of this, we aim to make it as pain-free and effortless as possible, and aim to help all of our miners make superb profits with the minimum of delay. If mining is your "thing", then EKT is worth considering as your new home!
