A Specialized Division within the Khanid Trade Syndicate (KTS), The Khanid Guard (KGM) is the Alliance's security arm.
[--BODY--]
The membership of KG comes from former members of East Khanid Trading (EKT) who were looking for a fresh challenge and a change of direction and also recruits externally from interested capsuleers, following the same selection process as the rest of the Alliance. A number of Guard pilots are alts of KTS members.
Self evidently, The Guard exists to provide security and protection to the rest of the Alliance in peace and war and in the first instance hope to provide deterrence from any aggression. With that in mind there is a regular and ongoing programme of training and operations which members are expected to attend if online and other, optional, activities such as missioning.
Training, by and large, takes place in a live fire scenario using the Test Server, whereas operations are on the main Eve server, Tranquility. Typically operations may include: fleet ops, surveillance, intelligence gathering, patrols in areas of interest, escort duties and the provision of alert forces for the support of wider KTS activities. In peacetime the Guard operates a strict NRDS (Not Red Don’t Shoot) policy in line with KTS policies, wartime however is a wholly different scenario.
The Guard is completely self-sufficient and self-financing within KTS through the use of member taxation and other revenue generating activities. This allows the Guard to keep several offices in strategically significant locations with the Alliance’s area of interest, in order to provide logistical support to its pilots in pursuit of their personal and Corporate undertakings.
